Summer Brief

Over the summer we got set a brief which included researching on a certain number. My number was the 'number 4'. I found a lot of facts on number 4 which i didn't know before and found this very interesting.

When we got to college, the same number was given to more than one person. We then got put into groups and had to put a presentation together to persuade and convince people why this number should be saved as each number had its own function and meaning. Me and my group decided to put up a play rein acting ITV's 'Richard and Judy's' show of 'You Say We Pay'.

We made slight adjustments to our version of this and decided to call it 'Dick and Judy' not because it sounded funny but also because 'dick' and 'judy' then both have 4 letters in them which reflets on our whole presentation of the number 4. We also thought it may have been rather humourous to change the sexes of both 'Dick and Judy' .

Meet Dick and Judy!!...

The main concept of the act was to have in a similar style to Richard and Judy's 'You Say We Pay' programme. In this part of the show a caller calls up and has to describe what is on the screen behind the 2 presenters and if Richard and Judy successfully guess what it is, the caller will win some money for it. ( see link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAX6yi60OPY)

Of course we didn't use money to pay our caller as it was just an rein act, but it would be pretty cool to win money on a fake show for us students! We put together a powerpoint of images which were related to the number 4. Our clues included facts about the number 4 but the actors were obviously acting as if they didn't know what the answers were as we wanted the audience to engage with what we were trying to say. The answer to all our images was '4' but we wanted the audience to listen to the facts and why the number 4 was so important.

Unfortunately, we couldn't record what we did but i hope the description was good enough for you to picture what it was like.

Overall 'Dick and Judy' was a success, it clearly engaged with the audiences as we got heaps of laughter at our very brave actor as Judy! and i hope people learn't something about the number 4 that day.
